This class is for those who have taken Amy’s Basic Photography Class and/or are at the intermediate level of digital photography.

Participants should have a firm grasp on aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and how to use these together to make a proper exposure in manual mode and aperture priority. This class will not cover these topics except when discussing their use creatively.

The 2-day class will cover Intermediate aspects in a round table discussion format on Saturday with an in field shooting day on Sunday.  This is small class so we work organically in the discussion of intermediate topics through participants own questions they bring to the table.

The Saturday portion will be in classroom and the Sunday will see us on an afternoon field trip to explore and use new skills rain or shine. This July class will take us to Natchez, MS on Sunday. We will leave at 12:15pm.

Saturday will be our classroom day. You can expect any of the topics below to be part of the discussion:

  • Metering
  • Advanced Focusing Techniques
  • White Balance
  • Natural Light vs External Lighting
  • Composition
  • Camera maintenance
  • Lens guide
  • Settings for landscapes vs portraits vs action
  • Printing
  • Setting up a portfolio website
  • And more, so bring your questions!

Sunday is an out in the field meeting . This July it will be in Natchez, MS.

We will take what we have discussed and learned on Saturday and apply it out in the field on Sunday!

Please note: I do have a small rescue Pomeranian dog that does often accompany me to classes in my classroom. PLEASE let me know if you have a dog allergy or phobia before we meet. Thanks!
