Photography is more than just the documentation of a place, event, or person. It is also the creative expression of the thoughts and feelings evoked by our subjects through light, color, and composition. The mere act of breaking our subject down to these raw parts is a type of quiet meditation; an act that not only can calm the mind, but can also exercise our creative eye and help us find the magic in the mundane.

Join Amy for a special photo walk around our city, neighborhoods, and gardens of Baton Rouge on Saturday May 4, 2019 where the focus will be seeing beyond what is before us and breaking it down to the simple and the raw through light, color, and composition. We will throw out the “rules” of photography and learn to find the magic by allowing ourselves to “color outside the lines”. We will discuss techniques and “tricks” that will aid us in our journey.

Afterwards, students will meet at Amy’s Studio for a discussion and viewing session of the images from the day!
